In the Postural Analysis, the body is studied from all four sides as well as in movement. A reading of where the joints lie in relation to the plumb line (the direct fall of gravity), will reveal imbalances which cause lowered muscular functioning, and often pain.
Our goal is to to bring the joints back to their neutral position in relation to the plumb line. This ensures the least stress on the skeletal and muscular system, creating a better performing body.
Nerve Impulse Redirection
PCWG utilizes the Nerve Impulse Redirection (NIR) technique in addition to Stott Pilates training. NIR is an individualized plan which works to redirect the body’s electrical impulses down less active nerve pathways, in order to re-awaken under-performing muscles. This technique retrains muscles to work as complete, balanced systems, as they were intended.
Once all of the muscles are working together, as a re-trained system, the body has more power, more strength, and the ability to achieve top performance in daily as well as athletic movement.
Sessions (50 minutes)
Foundations of Movement, 3 Private Pilates Sessions
Designed for all pilates students, from newbies to certified instructors, Foundations of Movement is your introduction to how the body is actually meant to achieve proper stability within mobility. These sessions are required before attending any other sessions at PCWG. Pilates students, including certified instructors, tend to be delightfully surprised with how much knowledge they pick up about their body’s functioning from these sessions.
The experienced student will learn, brush up, and/or observe STOTT™ Pilates principles in order to enhance and advance current abilities. The principles of Nerve Impulse Redirection (NIR) will also be introduced.
The first two 50 minute Foundations of Movement sessions are scheduled back to back for one 1 hour and 40 min session. Together, you and your instructor will review and address your completed intake form. She or he will teach the core principles that constitute the pilates repertoire while assisting you to recreate more efficient movement patters using the Nerve Impulse Redirection (NIR) technique. This instruction will teach you how to move your muscles systematically, as they were intended.
A postural analysis will be performed, and PCWG will begin to tailor exercises and modifications specifically to your body’s needs and form. You will learn to enhance and advance your current movement abilities.
Pilates Center of Winter Garden strives to be an intimate studio with more individualized attention. Group pilates sessions allow only 4 0r 5 participants. This way, you can continue the practice of restructuring your body by applying the NIR technique with your instructor’s personalized attention.
Students wishing to attain an even deeper knowledge of how pilates and NIR can be tailored to your specific body, we recommend signing up for Private Sessions. Private instruction allows for entire sessions of individualized attention.
